perspective from a cashier

I'm 26 years old and I'm currently working at the local supermarket. I'm sure most of you go to the supermarket every now and then. And I want to know how you pay for the stuff you bought. The supermarket where I work at has a specific machine that handles all the payments. Our job is just to register the things that the customer bought to the machine. And the machine can take credit cards as well. With the world changing to on how we pay for our things I’m scared that I’m not going to be able to keep my job for very long. Especially after seeing this article.

Cbs/ap. (2018, January 22). Amazon debuts "Go" store with no cashiers or checkout lines. Retrieved from https://www.cbsnews.com/news/amazon-go-store-no-cashiers-checkout-lines-seattle/ https://www.cbsnews.com/news/amazon-go-store-no-cashiers-checkout-lines-seattle/

How long will it take for things to change. How long will it take for everything to be payed with cash-less? If everything is going to be bought like the video, what will happen to our jobs? And I think this can be applied to not just supermarkets but all cashiers.
